Karl Katzendorn, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Barbara, and son Georg (age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Carl Kazendorn, his wife Barbara, and son Georg (age 1½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colonies on 3 August 1767 and are recorded on the 1767 census in the Appendix of Recruiter Beauregard in Household No. 123. They later settled in the Volga German colony of Wittmann.
The 1767 census records that Karl Katzendorn came from the German village of Basenstein [Bassenheim?].
