Quellen:1) Johannes Schmidt, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3. The 1767 census records that this Schmidt family came from the German village of Oberursel in Kurmainz.
2) Peter Schmidt, a farmer, and his wife, Anna Christina, settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 54. The 1767 census records that they came from the German village of Weilmünster.
3) Johann Just Schmidt, a farmer, and his wife, Elisabeth Margaretha, settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 125. The 1767 census records that they came from the German village of Ginseldorf in Kurmainz.

Könnte bitte jemand in der Liste der Erstkolonisten nachschauen, zu welcher dieser Familien Johannes Schmidt (*1757) gehörte?
Dieser heiratete später Anna Maria Beil (*1762).
